Mykola Tomenko: The First National Channel broadcasts Oriental Martial Combats in ‘the Family Time´, which is the lesser Evil compared to the ‘Ultimate Fights´ between the Central and Local Authorities, and the Opposition or even Public
Mykola Tomenko, Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, stated: "The First National Channel broadcasts oriental martial combats in ‘the family time´, which is the lesser evil compared to the ‘ultimate fights´ between the central and local authorities, and the opposition or even public."
However, it is obvious that the state-established and budget-subsidized First National Channel shall advocate the values of education and culture via educational and children programs.
M. Tomenko is convinced that ‘real fans of men´s sports´ have already had a chance to indulge themselves in the best box matches, arm wrestling, ultimate fighting and kickboxing, so it should be broadcast on the commercial channels.
The Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine also regrets that when the owners of Inter media holding "have destroyed the only sports channel "Megasport", only by a few fans of sports and martial arts supported his initiative to protect the channel.
